I'm looking at getting a post 2000 Soob - I've my last car was a 1991 model L series.

Anyway, I have a very good and expensive Kenwood MP3 6 speaker stereo that I would like to install into my future soob. A couple of the model sobs I have looked have a console that incorpotates the climate control system, emergency lighting etc all in the one unit.

How would I got about installing the stereo without hacking up the whole console unit?

What does everyone else do when they are fed up with the factory CD player?

I think it's a bit of an oversight for Subaru to put the stereo into one whole console.

Gen IV's a abit harder, you need to buy a Replacement Facia kit/AV Panel set from japanparts.com (chepaer than a dealer here); http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist. ... 07-209-006, not very cheap thou.
You get a new centre console, A/C controls and thats about it.... You'll need to add a DIN pocket if you've got a single DIN player aswell.
