Hi all
Hi all
Thought I'd say hi to everyone as i'm new here. I've been using this site quite a bit trouble shooting my '91 L-series, so I thought I should probably join up. I've had my L-series for 4 years now, and due to studies it looks like I'm going to be keeping it for a while 'til I can afford to trade up. Since I'm keeping it, i may as well get it going as best I can. I'm based in Melbourne, and I'll post some photos when i can find some decent ones. That's all for now.

I know how that goes mate! Very well. Although mine was a project from the start - I didn't know it had a shot engine, just thought it was a set of head gaskets. Either way, for $500 I'm not complaining!Boom29 wrote:yeah, the car was bought for 3k, and I've already spent way more than that on it, so getting rid of it doesn't make sense. And the lil guy has a special place in my heart now after many hours spent working on it.
Got some pics of your L?? We all love a good visual aid!
Cheers

I did my EJ conversion while still at uni - do plenty of research so you know what you're doing; know what you need to get and start shopping around in those small pockets of spare time.
I think it took me about 18 months to do mine from when I started the loom cut down - the "hardest part" for the first timer - get that right and you should be sorted for the rest if you know how to spin a spanner and work with mechanical things. So 18 months from the start of the loom cut to driving it out of the shed, "EJ'd"
Now it goes like an L series should have from the factory IMO!
