Hi, I bought an 1987 l series 4wd 1.8 gl wagon a few months back and have been loving it since. The reason I bought it was for a nostalgia trip, as my dad had a 2 back in the 80's, although they were 1.6 dl. It had only 42k miles when I took ownership, which has gone up to 44k miles now.
The car is in great condition , except for the back arches, which I will get sorted soon.I have fitted some freshly painted pickup rims, and thats about it.
Here are some pics before I changed the wheels.

Thanks, would love the lift kit, wheels and motor, but they would not be that easy got here for this car. They have all rotted away due to the climate and salt on the roads in winter, I havent seen another in years.
I love what you guys do with the old subarus, very cool.

It is the 73 to 78 models that have disappeared from everyday sight here - gees, imagine not seeing an L Series about !! Not seen those static straps for a long time, never dual set up - one for each kid ??

Old subarus are extinct here! There would have been loads about when they were new, but they couldnt stick the climate. Even early legacys, which followed the l series are gone. My car was one owner and garaged , thats the only reason its still about.
The static straps, had them in the garage, so I put them on. The kids love them;)

I think the guy that invented static straps became a multi millionaire and then disappeared to some tropical island. we used to see hundreds in the 70's, i think they were a placibo accessory.

Great to see an old Subie in such a place! Driving around England the earliest Subaru I ever saw was a Gen 2 Legacy and it was rough, that salty grit is not kind to bodywork :(

Nice find, look after it please :)

Hi, the salt is horrible, and new car are not undersealed here, which does not help. I intend to give the subaru an easy life, so rest easy. Thanks.

Well I must say that you've got a very twisted view on what a tropical island is!

Welcome to the forum none the less. Plenty of L series info to find ;)

Cheers
