New leone owner from Perth

Hello everybody on the forum, My names Elliott and I recently bought an 82 leone GLf5 sedan, joined this forum to see if I could find a few older subie owners and find a bit more info and maybe some help if I need it (almost certainly will)

The car itself was a steal, $480, yeah it has a little hole in the radiator and the rego is due but it was owned from new by a little old lady who didn't drive it to much and later sold it to her next door neigbours daughter who drove it for a few months and now its mine :D

besides the radiator its really clean for its age and with only a touch over 150,000 it still runs really nice. my plans are not to go overboard and swap motors and that, more likely just a minor resto and clean up, recondition driveline and suspension and just a few little touches.

anyway glad to be here, look forward to seeing some cool old scoobies.

Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you have scored yourself a great little car!

There are plenty of people here that will be able to answer your questions so you've come to the right place :)

I look forward to seeing some pictures of your new Subie :)

Hi and Welcome to AUSubaru Elliott

I love the old girls and have a small workshop in Rockingham that keeps these girls on the road. I have some parts if you need but they are getting harder to find these days :(

Is you GLF5 blue? I think I saw one for sale not too long ago on Gumtree. It looked in good nick :)

Cheers,
Paul

G'day Elliot,

There are plenty of older subarus still getting around - even though they are becoming hard to find... I've got a brumby that runs basically the same driveline as the MY sedan, except the brumby is the 4wd model...

Come to think of it I reckon you see more MY coupes than you do sedans...

Looking forward to your build thread, drop a link in here ;)

Cheers

Bennie

Yeah but bottle tops and bread crumbs don't pay the bills or buy cars :(

Besides I was going to put a lift kit , EJ22, AWD box and numerous othe bits in it.

this Bloke is going to restore it ... good on him, I will keep dreaming :)
