Claudia rebuild (MY Wagon) Warning Pics

Post by Matt » Tue Feb 21, 2012 11:30 pm

Here the rebuild thread for Claudia. Basically she is a 82 MY Wagon with some of the following mods...
EA81T, L series 5 speed dual range, Power Steering, Power windows, 2" body lift kit, L series Suspension front and rear, 27" nankang's on 14 rims, Liberty Seats front, back L series split seats, winch Bullbar with winch (over engineered), rear swing arm (with remote control release), alarm, central locking, sound deadened, rustproofed, Alpine Head unit, roof console with UHF, re trimmed hood lining, Rear Louver, tinted (although some may go darker) etc.

Soon to come LSD, power mirrors, engine clean up (change hard lines to soft, etc) etc.

Basically she has been resprayed including every bit of rust removed, wiring cut down and cleaned up, all relays centrally located, multiply new earth point installed, retrimmed hood lining, Custom made rear window seals (side and back). Basically she was off the road for 4 months or so in the process of all of the work, still more to do. Lots of late nights and early mornings.

A couple shamless plugs for some board members for there fantastic help along the way

Good stuff mate! I reckon a spray job will be my next task on the agenda - maybe not on Ruby Scoo but it'll be something one day!

How long did it take you to do the work? And I'm guessing it was once yellow?

Keep up the good work!

Cheers

I thought about it Andy... lol I might get some more today i have another photo shoot to do. Just tried to keep it resonable on here lol :)

Forgot some stuff on the list of existing mods, L series Front brakes (bigger) and Rear discs too. :)

And thanks everyone. And i have no idea of the time that has gone into it but money wise would be under $1000 including window seals, paints, etc.

Great job on the wagon good to see you fixing the rust and bring her back to life. so many of the older wagons have gone to the scrap yard because of people not taking the time to make the repairs. Like the dark blue too.

DIY. Once you've got the tools the bits you need aren't the bulk of the cost - labour is! And if you're doing it yourself with patience you'll do the same ;)

One day I'll be respraying something - Sunnie I reckon

L Series discs on the front ? Can I ask how ?? Phizinz and subybrumby have both removed L Series front disc, caliper and hubs from MY series due to angle of the dangle problems / \ !
