Project Car Selection

Post by Thalass » Fri Mar 04, 2016 12:20 pm

Hey folks. I'm in the position to acquire an SVX (This one). It looks pretty decent from the photos, but is unregistered so I'll have to go see Service Ontario about temporary rego or somesuch, and will have to wait for this bastard snow to go away because screw driving on the highway in an unknown car in this weather.

My issue is that while it's such a damn nice looking car, it's not exactly that practical. I'm keen on an older outback or lib too - because my last outback was tough as despite my shitty treatment of it  and could take this weather no problem.

So: Should I go with practical but mundane, or impractical and sexy? It's not like the kids can't ride in the wife's rav 4. And the seats fold flat in that, too... :D

(Either way the car I get will be stripped, cleaned up, and rebuilt as an electric car. Focussing on speed rather than range since work is 6km away.)

Waste of an svx if you're going to electrify it IMHO.

If you're so keen on electrifying to for the outback - make it practical ;)

Cheers

haha I think you misunderstand. I'm not talking golf cart. I don't have the budget to compete with Blackcurrent or a Tesla, but I do aim to have something similar to this at least:

Also this particular SVX already has a forester gearbox/diff so it's no longer stock and therefore fair game :P

Grab the SVX, project cars aren't meant to be practical ;)
