Steve is down for his 2 days a week with us. Straight to wheeling his magic. Removed the panal from the brumby we got . There are going to be a few left overs if anyone is interested, like the roll bar , Which has now be sold , but there is a set of 13 " subaru wheels and a ea 82 engine.

Then taped the few little dents out but missed one which i only just noticed and then trimmed it to go in the project brumby. Tomorrow it should be welded in.

Where do i start about today,,,, Steve decided that the inner area need replacing as well . So off it came from the red brumby. While steve did his stuff , ross and myself stripped the red brumby.

And then off it came off the project brumby. But with alot off the strength being removed. Bracing is required.

By the end off the day , ya wouldnt know so much was removed.

And steve wheeling his magic.

While I had the panels stripped down I reshaped the corner of the floor, the inner guard and the inner valance. The edge of the floor and the whole seam where it joins the other panels was still pushed in about 1/4 inch from the previous accident damage, so I had to harpoon it a couple dozen times with a crow bar (full sized) aimed right in the fold, then knock the floor back up and ease out it's wrinkles.
With all individual panels back to how they were originally pressed in the factory, welding it all back together was a breeze and I actually enjoyed it. There's more cutting, peeling and reshaping to do at the rear yet, so there'll be photos of that as it happens.

Yeah Stuart, but this is simply repairing a vehicle to original strength and form, in accordance with the owner's wishes.
My car is a bit different to how it was built by Subaru, although you can see much from the outside... The Brumby that Dibs gave me is going to be a bit of a showcase for what we can do, as it's destined to become a king-cab with about 6 or 7 inch stretch in the body and the load wall shifted back with the top of a wagon tailgate grafted in to make room for a full back seat. It'll have about the same room inside as the Leone sedan but retain most of the tray area as well. There will be a few Toyota bits, as it's going on top of a Hilux chassis and axles that I have sitting around, but the rig will still be Subie powered (albeit doubled up).
What I want to create is a "tough truck" that is versatile and fully usable on a daily basis.
