I'll take 2... 1 for MY Wagon and 1 for L if you get them made?
You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

I like it! I was driving in my cousin inlaw's Impala the other day, and it has a small roof console like this with the sunroof control, an led display with fuel useage and even your gps direction and temp info, and also programmable radio buttons for things like garage door openers and such.
I had thought it would be a great thing for my brumby one day, but had no idea how I could pull it off. Now I know it's possible!

Living in Canada now. Looking at all these SVXs for sale...
I'VE GOT AN OUTBACK AGAIN WOOT
I'VE GOT AN OUTBACK AGAIN WOOT
Steve didn't turn up today to put the gel coat on the mold , so we still tried to pop one out . We got one out and are going to use it to get the shape for the brumby. We keep it to get the trim lines for the brumby ones.

Once the above one come out , we started pouring another one . Time will tell if they can be done with out the gel coat . They will be a lot better with the mold gel coated , but if we can pour them with out the gel coat , people wont have to wait as long. Then big difference is , with out the gel coat in the mold, they aren't smooth. They have wrinkles from the cling wrap.

The L series ones will take awhile to do. They are longer, and thinner at the mirror. So we have to make a new mold for them.

A little update , We have the shape worked out for the brumby.
Before anyone jumps in and says they wont one, please remember they are not professionally made . You could say they are nothing more than a frame to hold the uhf up. It is the trim work that makes them look good. Ross and i are thinking of making a mold for the brumby one so we dont have to shape each one as they come out. IF you wish to get one, let me know , and let me know if you wont it shaped or if you wish to trim it to shape your self.
They are 2 layers thick , we put one layer down and let it dry and then put the 2nd layer on. We think 2 layers make it stronger . Weren't happy with just the one layer. We only put one out every 2 days only if we aren't dragged off to other stuff.

Poured another one and fitted it out. I thought i would go into a bit more detail this time with the picks to show how we do it a little better. If anyone wont's one , they can refer back to here for idea's on how to fit it out.
Made a little adjustment on the mold today as the wasn't quiet enough room to comfortably fit the UHF in and have a small amount of room around it.

Thanks , By putting each of our talents together or as the saying goes, more heads are better than one, this is what we have come up with. The last one is the product of all 3 of us.Fang wrote:Agreed - thats a fantastic job. Well done!

The first official brumby console made for the public. If you like it and wont one. now is the time to request one. P.M. me and i will give you my email address to send me the finer details.
We have added to the area where the UHF fits as there wasn't quiet enough room there. They are only designed for UHF sets on the smallish size. They might need a little adjustment to make them fit totally true. They aren't gel coated , so best to cover them.

Not for the Brumby but as mentioned before I'll take 2... maybe start 3 different threads in the For Sale section? Might make it easier to keep track of who wants what..RSR 555 wrote:I'll take 2... 1 for MY Wagon and 1 for L if you get them made?
