Subie Boys, Sister Car

Post by rtcb65 » Wed Jan 16, 2008 7:42 pm

This is the post about FAT 83 WAGON'S Sister car.

To start off, We went to the wreckers to get parts for one of our cars and brought a third of the car.. Two months later went back and decided to buy the rest of it.

Ross and i decided to fix it up as a replacement for a brumby for ross's son. Rolled the brumby.

Then we got into it.

As with alot of this model subaru , one of the main places that seam to rust is in the corner of the A pillor.
Steve ( celtic warrior ) Made a templet so we can tap out new pieces as we need them.Steve put up a thread about them .

Up until now , it all took about 10 days to two weeks . While we let the undercoat dry ( at about this time , We started taking the paint off Steve's car) After a couple of days of drying, the door frames and inner doors were painted.

Next was the only bit of custom work other than the central locking, alarm, electric tailgate release and spare tyre release. This is where steve comes in and steve put up a thread about it . The Tyre swinger and rear custom bummper.

It's not on the road yet, thanks to an unforeseen problem with one of the heads on the rebuilt motor. Fitted it, filled the radiator, fired it up, pumped water out exhaust, realised something was not quite as it should be...

So the motor had to come back out and be stripped down again at the machine shop and another head cleaned up for it (we got plenty spares).

She'll be regoed within the next few weeks.
Steve.

Now all there is to get is get the rego $$$ and it will be on the road. That is going to be about 3 to 4 weeks .

This was only a rebuild. not a custom build up.

This build up was to replace a brumby. The brumby was our 3rd build up . It was done by ross and myself except for the rear bumper. Steve built it before he decided to join us.

is that black or gray on the bottem of the car? and what did the brumby hit to do that kind of mess, is it just the rear quarter or the door as well?
The car looks good like that, you guys do good work up there, keep it up.
