Not that it looks any different, but it has the etch coat and the first coat of under coat.

Ok peoples, Rick asked me to post a couple more pics of the work we're doing on this car, since I took the photos and haven't shared them with him yet...

These are the floor beams/gussets that I quickly made up yesterday to give the car some extra strength to cope with whatever might come its way (including extra heavy passengers).

Image

And this is the new section inside the rear of the sill, where it meets the framing under the car. A fairly crucial part of the car's structure if you get hit.
Image

And this is the outside welded up ready for priming.
Image

Here's part of the finished repairs to the tailgate rust.
Image

Over the other side, after priming...
Image

Last pic for now, the bottom of the driver's fender, with new section fabricated and welded in.

Slowly moving forward.

As we are not tradesmen in any field to do with cars, a little putty to change the work from amateur to tradesman finish.

Top work on the metal fab. Those metal replications are very factory. They look they are gal pieces? Interested in what you use to weld them in? mig/gas and spot welder?

We don't like to use putty/bog, only enough to sweeten up over where welding is done.

the welding is only done with a very basic cheap mig.

We are looking at either the weekend or monday . One more thing to do before the color goes on. The stone chip stuff on the sill and give couple days to let undercoat to cure .

One more step forward , the sills have some stone chip protection and a bit of sound deadener under the bonnet.

We have only used body deadener as the chip protection which works well once covered by the top coat.

It is applied with a proof coat gun.

Each car that has been sprayed ( 3 ) with the deadener has had (at a guess) about a 20% drop in cabin noise.

We are now finally at the color point with the car. The start part with the color . under bonnet, inside the doors, inside the door ways, the tailgate area and the inside the tailgate. Or if you like , the surrounds.

Code : B29M
Year : 1984-1985
Make : Honda
Name : MIDNIGHT BLUE MET.
