It's not that bad, I've done it before. I was wearing 3 layers of clothes + a standard 0deg. sleeping bag.

The morning that it was -5 was a bit chilly, but the camp fire soon fixed that! Which reminds me, we were camped about half way along the road from Finke to AS.

mmmmmmmm..........no
But you dont seriously want to hire a big 4wd like that do you?

I just did a quick search.
Thrifty have 100 Series for $140
Europecar have 100s for $115 and a compact 4wd for $60
Thrifty have 100s for $132 and Challenger for $107
oh but carhire.com have Impreza and Forester from $38 and $59
Look here http://www.carhire.com.au/book/Default. ... gs#results

I'm going to start a new thread in the NT travel section as we are getting a little off the topic of the build up.

No.
I had to go back to work.
Going to Mount Isa tomorrow to try and get the rear guards done.
My brother took some better quality pics and footage of it running last week. When he emails them to me I will put them up.

It looks so good now that I'm thinking about cutting the guards on my street Brumby the same and painting it the same colour so I can have a matched pair. One for the road and one to race.

He does need lights like that so he can see our number plates as they disappear over the horizon.

Should drop by Bretts when my brother picks up the gear I left behind. He has just upgraded the spotlights on his tilly to HID. 4 on the headboard, 2 or 3 on the bullbar and headlights as well.

On topic though,
I just returned from town where I managed to fit the passenger seat, master switch & bonnet scoop. Trimmed the bullbar and picked up LED dust lights & new mag nuts.
Forgot to take new video camera ):

I had thought of going HID but I reckon I have enough light and I'm not real fond of having even more wiring to worry about.

Poor mans hoist.
Image

Had to cut out this crossmember to get the drivers seat low enough,
Image

And built a new one about an inch lower. Any lower and I'd have to put the bolts up through the floor.

Both seats in.
