Farking hell comes to mind about now.

Looking good, even though i'm not entirely sure what's going on with all the front suspension except that you have long travel struts that would push the CV's too far down.

Good job, really wish I could see it in Alice, might grab a tatts ticket to "dream" ;)

Keep up the good work, I hope someone videos this thing in action!

Cheers

It only drops down about an inch further than stock and the inner DOJ is still well within its limits. The balljoint maxes out first on full rebound but I have changed the angle on the end of the lower control arm to prevent this.
The only way to get more travel than stock without changing to better joints, is to go up. Naturally with stock tyres you would run out of clearence hence the need for taller tyres.

G'day muttnAlice, you must be a centre local? Are you crewing for anyone?
Don't be offended if I don't wave as I go through Deep Well!
I heard last night that the fast road section between Deep Well and Rodinga has been replaced with more of the old railway line service track so that's going to slow everyones times this year.

yeap couple of friends on bikes - first fuel down, last fuel back

news to me re track change, however the last couple of years with the higher number of vehicles and massive bike entries(already Maxed at 400, more than likely to see 450 actual), the track is getting very cut up. no big rains in last 4-6 years in the area causing it to get very dusty and degrading the surface your travelling on. you will probably hear it before me being a competitor. i'll keep an ear out for it though and let you know.

Even coming into the deep well area the whoops are 4-5 foot deep and only 5-6 metres apart crest to crest, not too much fun :-D in an ordinary brumby LOL.

probably see your ride at scrutineering, i may even be helping them this year?

According to the website, bike entries had to be stopped at 500 and they're putting everyone else on a waiting list. It's gonna be huge! Scruitenning's going to take all night. I don't know how many car entries there are but I think they're stopping at 110.
I hope I'm wrong about the road section. It's a good place to break up the field.

That's alot of competitors. It'd be good to see 110 vehicles. Dunno about 500 bikes though.

No worries.

Who's Max? or whats his competition number?

Pic would be great. In all seriousness though, as you probably know, horsepower is not a high priority in an offroad racecar.

Time for an update and a few pics.
The front struts are in and working great. Still got a lot of testing & tuning to do but initial impressions are hampered by the now inferior rear suspension. Can't wait to get the coilovers back under the rear end and see how it handles the rough stuff. I've ended up running all the available caster that we built into the adjustable strut tops because the handling improves enormously.

One of the new front struts.

Oh dam, very nice BR (there is no doubting that this thing is an absolute weapon).
Toyota 105 Series LandCruiser (that nobody on here wants to really hear about).
RX Touring Wagon - fitted out for 4WDing (currently collecting dust).
RX Project - will be road only at this stage (and currently taking way to long to finish).

It was holding up some matting to the bonnet to protect the paint while we were welding and grinding on the strut towers.
