did you resize the inlet and outlet pipes to 38mm on your radiator? is the thermostat you are using the 190 degree subaru genuine for the EJ motor? do you run the heater always or turn it off?

Bottom hose is resized. My last conversion wasn't and no issues. The factory thermostat is 78c which is a 172. Have tested with greater tap on and off. Engine is out of the car now, will test when it's back in.

I used a outback 190 degree for my EJ in my brumby as the EJ 180 factory thermostat wouldn't let the engine get warm enough. which meant my EJ22 was always running rich and near cold. Once I got the 190 in it ran perfect. I always had the heater running as well as that's how they are plumbed in the EJs. I didn't bother with the thermo fan switch either I had a 6 inch fan that always ran and a 10 in switched fan for 4WD work

The Brumby heater tap either directs coolant through the heater core or back to the thermostat housing. It doesn't turn the flow off. Using the heater tap turned "off" is pretty much the same as an EJ heater plumbing with the exception that small amount of coolant isn't cooled through the core.

I still don't have the engine back in due to a little issue with missing detent components on the transfer case. Hopefully this weekend.

Just an update. I replaced the thermostat with a 182f which is 83c, similar to the Brumby one. I got a new thermo switch. Now it's working exactly as it should, with the exception that maybe the fans aren't cooling quite as quickly as the large factory one do. I'll find out in the hotter weather if they'll be suitable I suppose.

Gave it a cut and wax today. Changed the oil to some fresh penrite full synth. Scraped overspray off all the glass. Made some small adjustments to the low range lever adaption to solve a reverse/low range clash.

Also swapped the 14"wheels back on the Lib so I can sell them separately.

Well they're not scorpions or desert rats - and they have the factory offset.

Look like a set of 14 inch sunnies to me. I don't know who made them, but that's what I've known them as.
