EJ SPFI - anyone know about these?
So after a discussion on another forum about an EJ with a dizzy, I have just learnt that there was a SPFI EJ engine. I thought all EJs with a dizzy were carb, this pic proves otherwise:
Looks like the heads are also single port like the EA82 setup - the intake manifold has one tube/runner to the head.
Very interesting and I found it quite surprising.
Pic from here.
Cheers
Bennie

Pretty sure it's a dual port manifold from an EJ18
I have one of these in a box somewhere, if you want a better pic of the manifold?

Yeah Paul that'd be awesome if you could.RSR 555 wrote:I have one of these in a box somewhere, if you want a better pic of the manifold?
I reckon what I've done is heard that these setups are good for a carb setup due to the factory dizzy. So I've locked in that they're a carb feed rather than an SPFI feed system.
So every one of these that I've seen in pics etc I've labelled as a factory EJ carb.
Clear as mud?
Cheers

Cool, thanks Gannon. Saves me the trouble of unboxing mine.
Yeah Bennie, this looks exactly like my SPFI one. I also have a carby version but it looks similar, except were the throttle body or carby sits. I've taken a picture of the mock setup I'm planning for a later project.
