Central locking change battery in key fob how to?????

Hi All
HELP!!! I have a MY05 Subaru Impreza GX. Central locking wasnt working. Changed battery CR1620 and still won't work. How do you reset the key. I changed the battery a few years ago and can't remember the steps??? Manual has no info Help!
