Drive to Drake (Northen NSW)Straight away you're in Girard State Forest. You think you're in the tropics in another country. Then onto Rocky River 90km drive of the most scenic river you will see. You will understand why it is called Rocky River with bolders and rocks the size of cars and bigger, all through the length of the drive. With plenty of causeways and water splashes to go through and one of the best dirt roads around ending up at Tenterfield.

Camping at Paddys Flat is a great place by the Clarence river it's very quiet with a good fire to keep warm.

Then a drive through Beauty State Forest it's a Eucalypt plantation with some stunning scenery up in the hills.
Don't forget to bring your gold pan you never know
Bring camping gear food and drinks

This is an Easy run no hard 4wding

I think most will buy dinner at the pub but if you don't want to you can cook your own
There should be some that will cook too.

Sorry i cant make it Jan sounds like a great run which i hope we do again in the future. Make sure the guys take plenty of pics

Here is a picture report of the club's run for this trip. I've included a few short video clip of the crossings.

Continue on - we stop on the side of the road for some bush walking to reach a disused gold mine shaft.









Unfortunately, the pot of gold eluded us on this occasion.

Then off to a nice location for lunch...

From here, we proceeded along more gravel and very dusty tracks.

Spotted a river crossing along the run.

Some of us decided to head to the local pub in Drake for some country hospitality.



The next morning...packing up.



Stop over at a nice steep climb for a short play.

From here we continue on to a nearby phone tower to get some phone reception. Some needed to ring work to report their sick leave.



Then back to Drake to pick up some lunch and another photo shoot.
