Ok, yeah Daniel said he could get it done really well hot by feel.
So il let him do that.
Speaking of brakes. Mum has raised some concern...
Not doing any conversions, just new parts. Eventually.

Awsheetyeah it gets hot in there, especially as I'd reheat between sides. Those disposable gloves help - smell burning rubber before burning skin.

That fancy spanner may be 40 years old !!

Its been aproximatly 1 year 5 months since i bought the car.
It's been approximately 1 year 2 months since I shat the head gasket.
And It's been 8 months and 1 day exactly since the engine was removed.
Today we seperate the men from the boys.
Today we find who is the strongest to survive.

Here we are, finally a few pictures.
We have the engine in, and connected to the gearbox, just have to tighten up the clutch.
Air and vacuum hoses, a little bit of wiring, fuel and we should be good to go next Monday.

She almost looks like a car again!
I'm super happy and excited. School holidays so I have a bit of time now to do more work.
Once all this is done, we might get round to installing that lift kit sitting in the shed.

Before that, can we see something on the carby to stop anything falling in and working its way through to the valves or further ......

Some good advice there.

A piece of leaf litter could be blown into the carb while you're busy doing other things.
(That's another story about a mates RX4).

Looks like a good job so far.

Great work I love the sight of a spotless engine, probably feels like you're nearly there when it goes in

Did you have any frustrating moments trying to get 4 crankcase bolts/studs lined up and engine mount studs through X-member?

Is anyone else worried about the presence of a rather large rubber mallet ? The only time mine comes out is to knock the heads off on strip down. Is this just a prop Cam or did it get used somewhere in the install?

Today i played with a heap of vacume lines and emissions stuff.
Sam, yeah ver close now. Love the spotless engine, untill you look at the underside of the gearbox.

Ahh, yeah it gets used every now and again. Here it was used to help do up the flywheel bolts. (with loctite)
Only problem we encountered was lining up the clutch even with a dodgy tool from supercrap. Apparently a broom handle works too.
So there was a bit of Wiggling and frustration etc trying to force the engine in.
In the end we loosened the clutch pressure plate, and will do it up now through the starter motor hole.
All we had to do was jack the gearbox up slightly and with the crane it was relatively easy.
Hope this answers some questions.

Oh bugger, forgot to tell you those "universal" clutch alignment tools from supercrap aren't universal enough; don't fit these engines spigot bearing as I too found out the hard way

And she absolutely will not go in unless the clutch is aligned or loose to do up later...I also found that out the hard way haha

Hahaha yeah....
If you or anyone else wants to make it up to me. I would love some pics of the pcv valve and vacuum hoses around the carby.
The pcv I have no clue, the others I just want to double check mine are all correct.

Starting with the hitachi then the weber.
So the hitachi.
When the weber is on the pcv will be on but the emissions may or may not be.
