So the hitachi.
When the weber is on the pcv will be on but the emissions may or may not be.

What the heck is that conical shaped thing above the rocker cover?
The PCV hose system is really simple; the hose from that side rocker cover comes up to a junction piece, one hose going to the PCV and the other joins to the air box.
Will it ever end!?

Nope not a bong, it is all part of the pollution control stupidity that Subaru had to come up with to make the engines run cleaner. Exhaust gases recirculate with PVC gases in that little thing. it is all joined up to a valve that sits on the side of the passenger wheel strut. I was so glad when I pulled all that stuff out of my car and put it in a box for safe keeping :)

What do you actually need for the engine to run?
Just pcv?

Right so....

Engine in, lift kit in, weber on.
Engine RUNNING!!!
Clocked up about 200km so far.
Booked her in to my local garage. Blackwood dyno tune, authorized repco.
They seemed alright, insisted because it was a carby they get in an old guy that knows what he is doing. I was pretty happy.
They were going to do a full tune.
Turns out they couldn't. 2 reasons.

Rockers have to much sideways movement.
My coke / mother can fix leaked worse than the wiki leaks information.

Turns out that I had some shim washers missing. Wave washers whatever you want to call it.
Mine NEVER had them. Without them there is to much sideways movement so it throws everything out.

The exhaust they said would throw out their machines and o2 sensors etc.
I grabbed a piece of exhaust, cut a sleeve, welded it on. And used putty to fill in the cracks and little holes that mudking made my welding. Hehehehe.

Tomorrow morning she goes back in!
This should be it! Hopefully! Touch wood.
Finally aloud to drive her. (Again) (with the sideways movement it could/ was ruining the valves or rockers.

mmmm, there are wavy washers somewhere and coil springs too on the rocker gear, so you fixed that too ?
Surprised you chose your chuner and not take it to one recommended by your engine builder.

I like the fact they needed an old guy to tune a carbie, :D :D

Cool springs eh?
Just took it in. The wave washers arnt much. But do a bit.
He did reccomend a few, but they were a long way away. A bit far the way this engine is running.
When I suggested these guys he was happy, and the tuner got a strict talking to by me!
