Totally agree with that!

Rumbl1n, there's nothing wrong with longer bolts - once again, just so long as the blocks are properly braced and the correct tension is used there shouldn't be an issue. There are many lifted vehicles that use long bolts successfully without issues.

Your brumby is looking good though and I'm sure you'll love its new capabilities offroad, especially once you go for larger tyres!

I agree i guess it just comes down to personal preference at the end of the day there is many different ways i have seen subaru's lifted all look safe that one on gumtree just looked a little to corroded for me was saying the style of the lift was unsafe sorry if it seemed i was taking the micky

Nah mate I didn't think you were taking the micky, just know that they are safe to use, but if one is severely corroded on the blocks or the body mount points then you have to think twice about using and/or buying a vehicle in that condition.

You're also right about personal preference! At least you came to that on your own without a thread about the two or three options asking for experiences with each where the discussion settles on one option only then to have the OP go with the talked down one anyway because that's what they wanted in the first place!

Been following this thread with interest , normally I am an "as brochure" sort of bloke and keep my trucks stock standard.(probably because I am not the best mechanic in the world) But I must admit I do like the look of that . Where was that laser cut kit advertised ? I am sure a few other MVBrumbyBRAT owners would enjoy reading about your mods so please feel free to start a thread on our forum too. "MO"

Hey guys i went camping the other week an with the dirtbike and the camping gear the ute was sitting really low.

so my next mod is to put airbags under the back my dad has a pair that came off his one tonner so im hoping we can mount them where the rear diff stops are located (because of the 4" lift there is quiet alot of room under there)

wow mate looking good! i put a 4inch in my l series and its great off road i have tried a few tiers but the best i have found are-27inch maxxis buckshot mudders- pretty cheap too, i spend a lot of time up rainbow beach towing a jet ski and full of camping gear and they go great guns.. here are a few pics for ya of my old blue and my new silver wagon...

Thanx for the info I haven't done research on tyres yet I am wait for my five stud conversion to arrive I have to find a set of rims for it first I have my old legacy wheels I will put on temperererly The photos look great

haha yea i find myself saying it to people that doubt my little wagon, there always quite surprised, she is untouchable up the beach too...

I've looked into this on my L series. I'm going to make a plate that mounts from the swing arm closer to the diff so that the air bag is located in line with the chassis rail above. I might have to re-route some lines associated with the fuel tank but I'm ok with that.

The air bags I've got to play with have been donated from Tweety and are like these:



I've got to make up a top and bottom bracket to fit it in then run the air lines to a suitable point to air up and down as needed. I think it should be a sweet setup once completed!

ahh air bags would be great. what would you do for a compressor? i have seen a few mates turn there aircon pumps into air compressors that work quite well and can turn them on and off on the run, one mate has a old 20L gas bottle under his back seat for a storage tank.. works great and i hear its easy to do.

You don't need an on-board compressor for air bags. You use a valve setup like a tyre to pump each airbag up to the same pressure once the suspension is raised to the desire level.

If you have a set of air bags that are continually being adjusted you'll need an onboard compressor. But that's not the case for us.

It's something I'd like to do. Just search for endless air. Problem for me is lack of room!

yes i guess your not needing them all the time, just for camping.. yes the little wagons don't have much room..

MY mate owns a 92 liberty gx with air bags all round, adjustable.
came out stock, maybe could merge that system ?
