Great work there !;)
Can I suggest one thing (apolgies if this has already been suggested )
Can you also cad a longer wheelbase version ?

I'm kinda hoping that your good work can find its way to FHI hq in the land of the rising sun. (was there in November 12)

If there is a viable / useable truck then who knows ?

Im sure that the bed lenght of the brumby - plus maybe 6" on length and to the same with as the XV would be easy to produce from the current floor pressing and thus a viable proposition.

The lwb Scandinavian MV / Brumby was lenghtened in Finland and looks odd as its not factory.
With your undoubted drawing skills if you can keep the correct proportions - you could be onto a winner !:p

Thanks to 'Frog' for some nice under body shots ...

Query - What is the oil tank connected to in this shot ? ...

Image

It looks like an oil pump on left side of trany - goes to a reservoir somewhere ?

Maybe when I've finished the one one I'm working on ... ;)

Do Note : That the wheel base of XV is slightly bigger than the original Brumby = larger tray area ... :)

Although it might be a bit deceptive in the way I've done the rear cabin ... :p

Tray :

Image

Notes : Yes there is a 'gap' in the tray - I stuffed up the measurements & will have to go over it later ... :(

Query : I'm having bit of difficulty with the rear Cabin Window + Gutter & Side Pillars in allowing for water run off - Not sure how to do it, any suggestions ?

Had a thought of putting a hard canopy across the back too ... :p

Enough for now ... ;)

Cheers, Bantum ...

Build one! Phizinza did! Looks awesome with some of the stuff he's been building. I think he's now having a go at building his first design rather than ones off the net.

Looks awesome Bantum! Makes me want one - even though I probably can't afford it!

Cheers

Great work with the program but I was thinking it looks more the ford focus RS from around 2009 -2010, still it is better than it looking like a holden apollo :)

It is a pity that even if Subaru did release a "ute" it would more than likely be a rebadged hilux:(

Yes if your talking about home built ones, I'm not sure it's that easy though ... ;)

I've been seeing bits of it logged on the Sketchup Warehouse from you already. I think the full blown subi is just a great idea!

Looks superb bud.

I might post up a draft version to the 3D warehouse when I can, as I haven't had a chance to do any more recently ... Mainly due too many other distractions happening atm with arrival of a F-111 at the QAM ... :)

Sensational. Up for some sort of Ausubaru Medal I think.

Put this one on your resume. ;)

In my opinion any future XV ute or similar vehicle should come out in two versions. There should be the luxury version along the lines of the SUV and there should be the 'Agri' version that is more suitable for farms, serious off road stuff and those that dont want carpets and gismoes.

The 'Agri' version would also have shock mounted rood bar, vinyl floor coverings, 40mm higher ground clearance, space for a winch and spotties and if possible a tray option and diesel option.. All this stuff the public want and I'd buy one on the spot if available.

+2

Perhaps you should send Subaru USA your resume when you're finished, you might get a design job ober there. Or perhaps just contract out to them at exorbitant rates lol

Totally agree. I think the consensus is overwhelming that Subaru is missing out on an opportunity...

Perhaps also a factory bullbar & tonneau cover. The diesel option would go down great with farmers!
