After seeing a post where someone’s bonnet was stuck in open position, due to seized pivot pins, I decided to service mine.
Plenum chamber cover was already off, so perfect time.
Although still functional, they were corroded and in need of some love.
Scrounging through my “Good shit” box of nuts and bolts produced a couple of viable candidates for modifying.
Turn down and add a thread and Bob’s your Aunties live in lover.

Should last another 34years, hopefully.

Re: Brumby Bonnet pivots
So one bolt is the old one from the hinge joint and the other is the one you turned up?
Adding some grease or some sort of long lasting lubricant in there should also help long term.
Cheers

Yes. OEM hex head bolt is worn where bonnet arm rotated.
I have used a socket head bolt, mainly because that's what I had. Have filled the socket with grease, along with the actual moving parts, to prevent future issues of corrosion.
