my wagon's 6 stud conversion
hahah thats the first thing i said to him when i came to help fit them.
it all goes on without scrub.... but im still going to modify the radius rod for him to move the wheel foreward a bit just to be on the safe side

How is the radius rod gonna be modded?
It does look slightly out of proportion but in a good way....this is good for me to look at actually, mine with similar wheel size but with 6" lift might actually look reasonably proportioned.
Good that nothing scrubs....I hope it still doesn't scrub when you actually drive it (over bumps, bashing around offroad etc might be a whole `nother ball game!)

if we put some washers on the end of the radius rod it will move the wheel further forward in the arch. Where the control arm bolts to the xmember should be ok too ans the angle will be minimal down there(if that makes sense haha)AndrewT wrote:How is the radius rod gonna be modded?

So what's going on here?!
I go away for a week on ski camp
before I left Alex had wanky on the market. Now that I'm back I find out that he's kept it cos of some shiny wheels... You can't help yourself can you mate???
Did AndrewT or D3VIL Dave happen to send you in the direction of shiny stuff? Cos we all know that Alex + Shiny stuff = Alex owning that shiny stuff...
Well, it looks like you've pretty much got it sorted. I wonder what the top end speed will be now?!
Good effort and I'm glad that your keeping wanky - also glad to hear that Fatz is keeping his monster wagon!
Cheers

yeah...the rears are still going to be chopped out abit. Should fit ok tho.Fatz wrote:looks good,
don't like the red though.
Also your going to have major issues with your rear wheels rubbing from the looks of those pics.
Good effort regardless
The red is going as well. Due to popular demand hha.

before you take to the rear guards with an axe... have a serious think about these tyres. Sounds like the main reason you want to use them is because you bought them cheap?
Its much easier to cut your guards away than to replace the material down the track if you change your mind.
I am not trying to talk you out of it. Its just I have seen people go down this path before. get excited. go huge. realise it was a bad idea. go back to more sensible tyres and end up with a chopped up set of guards for no reason.
your call though. i'm not denying they look cool. I just think they will be impractical offroad.

In general i also like what you have done (apart from the red paint
it looks tops ).
Only questions that i have, is, clearance between the wheel and the guard become a problem when going through thick mud? What about when you let pressure down as well? Would lifting the body help more?

yes im chopping the car to make it fit these 29's. The rear only needs a tiny tap to get them to fit nicely, and the fronts have been done in such a way that even with little tyres and no lift you wont be able to notice theyve been cut. Its amazing what flares and mudlflaps can conceal!vincentvega wrote:before you take to the rear guards with an axe... have a serious think about these tyres. There is still another inch of lift to come in the front and the rears should be fine with only a light tap.
Im also changing the gear ratio to 3.9 which SHOULD help a little bit offroad.
I did this conversion because my tyres where shagged and i wasnt keen on forking out over $1000 for a set of BFG's and to be honest the super trippers haven't impressed me much, they are way to soft and wear out very quickly.
Another reason ive done this conversion is to TRY and stop spinning wheels offroad and get more traction/flotation with bigger tyres.
Ive always said from the start, when these tyres are shagged, im going to downsize them to a 28inch tyre.
