No longer a parts guy!

Post by tim_81coupe » Tue Feb 07, 2006 8:40 pm

Yep that's right. I'm out, totally out. I'm still working with the same Toyota dealership I joined about 4 weeks ago, but now I'm in the Pre Delivery department. In amidst the vehicle inspections I did today I fitted an air con to a new 4L V6 Hilux and to my amazement it worked! Tomorrow first thing I'm doing the same to a 2WD T/D.

My aim is to work hard here and move on to an adult apprenticeship as a mechanic. Unfortunately there isn't room for another apprentice there at the moment, but I'm first in line for the next opening.

I'm happy to be finally working on cars rather than books and computers.

Good stuff dude.... im glad your starting to enjoy yourself... too bad they don't need an apprentice mechanic at any of the Subaru stores.

Thanks guys, yes it is a bit of a pity I'm working with Tojo's and not Subys, but realistically I think I'm better off with Toyota as the model range is vastly greater - and the dealership I'm at is by far the biggest Toyota dealership in WA (2nd biggest in Oz!!).

Not as quickly as I'd have wanted, had heaps of non-work stress of late and not been able to get to it (conversion that is). Coupe has the usual bad manners and Milo is barely running - two totally bent radius rods which I can't seem to source any replacements for and a rooted gearbox crossmember,

Oh well, at least the work side of things are looking up.

May aswell grab the radius rods out of the sedan temporarily - it probably won't be needing them for a while. Damn conversions always take too long! :)
