Daniels lifted series 1Show me someone with outback struts + lifted springs who gets 5 years out of shafts like I do.

My old RS sedan (admittedly it wasn't outback struts but it was coil overs wound up). It was driven a lot harder than most cars and I never had to replace the CV joints in it from the time I built it.
My old Orange one was even worse with the lift (3" tops, Outback struts and lifted springs with only a 40mm block on the chassis) used to tear boots and I would replace them once a year. With the new boots that Jay has put on there it won't be a problem.
Dave M's Forester with 2" strut lift. Along with all teh other ones that have been lifted that way.

a 40mm forester strut lift is not the same as 30mm raised springs + 30mm ?? outback struts.. thats another 50% again taller.
look its a personal preference thing. If you want height and find it acceptable to tear CV boots and wear shafts at a faster than normal rate, then by all means go big.
If reliability is more important to you than height, don't go too tall.
Grant's car is a perfect example. He fitted brand new shafts before we left out west, and tore a boot 2000kms later. To me that is not acceptable. To him that is just part of having a massively lifted car (i cant deny that it looks COOL though...)
The flip side is if I had as much ground clearance as him, I wouldn't have got stuck on the exit of settlement creek. I would have just straddled those logs like everyone else.
