Post by Kev » Sat Feb 25, 2006 12:17 pm

I am respraying my L series & the paint code is long gone.
Does anyone know where to go to find subaru paint codes.

It is an '86 L series wagon, non metallic red.

Kev, if i remember i will have a look on mine 2nite. Alternatively take a small chip to a paint place (Those Bunnings super stores have em) and they will give you a paint code once they have scaned the paint chip. This code then gives em correct mixture for you car.

You can find the codes that fit the colours on the internet.
eg Cardinal Red = 936
Cayenne Red Pearl = 22w

The problem is that Subaru has at least 13 different shades of red. They also have many shades of white, green etc.

What I need to know is what 'red' was used on Leonie models in 1986.

I didn't know that Bunnings did Automotive paint. I'm pretty sure that Currumbine & Joondalup dont. They can scan a colour & come up with a mix that will fit Dulux or Berger or other housepaint.

I will try Whitfords. It's been a while since I was in that store. The last time I was there it was a BBC Hardware.

Hi Chris,
The problem is that the number which is on a small silver sticker, in the engine bay near the top of the radiator has been erased.

kev,

mine is there ( silver tag on radiator support.) but suffered the same fate yours did. where on the net do you find them. short of finding a white tourer and sneeking a peek I have no idea what colour mine actaully is.

Chris

You can do a google search that will lead you to a number of sites that will list all the Subaru colours and the codes that go with them.

The problem for you is that there are about a dozen different shades of Subaru White.

What I couldn't find is a list of what colours went with what Subarus & in what years.

I suspect that someone with a white Subaru of the same model & year as yours will have the same colour as yours.
