does anybody know how to decipher engine numbers to work out the make year of the engine? i've got an ej20 wrx engine in my brumby and i wouldn't mind finding out how old the motor is...

Google the engine number and that should give you a fairly close indication of when and what it came out in!
87 targa brumby (Neglected),
