Just upgraded; was 85 L-series touring Wagon (still have), and now a green 99 Forester. Flew to Sydney to buy / collect; did oil change; drove to Melbourne. Soon I'll head up to Lake Eyre, then do some roundabout wander back up to Darwin.
The back end is obviously sagging, and seems to be lower on the passenger side. Guess I need new springs, and a little lift if I can. Not the same setup as the L-series.
Now… I'd really appreciate a few tips on what are the top things I should check / understand / do / have spares of before I go remote?
(I'm used to going remote - just not with this vehicle)
thanks in advance for your wisdom and good safety tips
My new 99 Forester
Hey Mate,
Congrats on your new vehicle! I hope it treats you well for years to come.
In regards to taking a Forester remote, I'm not sure I can help much, since I haven't taken mine too far of the tarmac. When I eventually do, things I will change are springs and struts. It might even pay-off to take a spare front and a spare rear mounted strut in case (fingers crossed) things go bad...
Cheers!
