Sad day when we got home :(

Post by El_Freddo » Fri Oct 29, 2010 6:38 pm

G'day all,

News I have to share - a way of dealing with it I guess. Please don't feel that you have to post anything.

Firstly my sister arrived home from canada, expected just didn't know which day because she wanted it that way. So that was awesome.

But when we got home Bros went looking for our cockatoo - Naboo (named after the gypsy-shaman in the Mighty Boosh). He's just gone one and cannot grow new feathers, so wears a sock jacket. He roamed the garden during the day and would be back at his cage before we got home so we'd think he'd not done anything for the day.

Unfortunately he was found in a bath of water that is used on the vege patch. How he got in there I don't know.

A little character and a member of the family that will be missed. Dad was his no1. He's bottling it.

RIP little fella.

Cheers

Bennie

Naboo went ever where with mum and dad if they were off for a weekend. He's been waterskiing with us, came up to the snow on several occasions and stayed with my uncle and aunt's family where he quickly got their dog on his side. In the pic above he's eating the peas out of the green bean. He'd come inside in time for dinner prep where he'd get either a cob of corn or two (cut down) to chew to bits or some sort of green bean. Earlier this week he started eating his cob at the dinner table with us on his perch seen in the pic. He came to my bucks party last weekend too...

These birds really are individuals that have their own personalities.

Anyway, I'll leave off here. I'll try and dig up some pics of him in the snow with his sheep skin jacket.

Thanks everyone for your kind words, and to those who took the time to read about our Naboo.

Its not going to be the same around home for a long time.

Hylton, thanks for the pic, its a good one!

Regards
