brake upgrade

hey guys!
im back

with a new car.
i just bought a 2005 liberty 2.5 and i'm loving it.
im looking into getting a pair of 4 pot 99 wrx brakes but im wondering if the standard disc brake will fit? will it interfere with the abs as the standard ones are 2 pot? are they worth it?
also found an 01/02 STI strut brace, would it fit my car?

I'm fairly sure the calipers will bolt on but they are designed for a 294mm disc - not sure what the Liberty runs - I think most of the earlier Libs were only 277mm.

ABS is in the Hubs and will not interfere.
You will just have awesome brakes

Larger brakes will give you brakes with less effort but won't stop any better, unless you have a tyre that grips better than stock.

The brakes will still lock to the ABS point and be modulated at that point.

ah okay sweet as.
it has 19s running 235 so i'm assuming it would stop better.
should i go for slotted rotors?

To be honest, having 4 pots myself and doing it from scratch -

$300 for calipers
$50 for rebuild kit
$200 for slotted rotors
$200 for good pads

=$750

for $800 you can get a set of willwood 4pots with
discs, pads and braided stainless lines but.....
Probably more expensive for new consumables.
Because they have adapter they become non ADR
compliant.

But loads of wank factor!

If I do it again, I'd get the wilwood kit.

Or do what I did - 4 pots from All Things Subaroo for $250 and DBA 5000 2 piece rotors from eBay for $300 - $550 all up and fully road legal.

I don't think my Brumbywill have any trouble stopping now

I do suggest using brand new parts and a rebuild

Yes but as soon as you drive out the driveway even new parts are secondhand. And does that mean you would recommend putting brand new discs and a caliper kit on a secondhand car ??

Visual inspection and test drive will be enough for me
