Aw... I thought you were going to keep it stock! A bit of true 80's nostalgia!!

Then again, I think it was brett's old vortex that took on a new life as a lifted, EJ'd beast - it was blue with sunroof and a yellow engine bay!

All the best with the new purchase, they're certainly unique!

Cheers

Sacrilege! Sacrilege! Sacrilege! Sacrilege! Sacrilege! Sacrilege!

On a less spammy note:) I changed the HT leads for a set off an EA82 at the wreckers and while my engine is unwell, it is amazing the difference a newer (they are still bright blue) set of leads have made.

Now I just have to treat it kindly until Im ready to make some changes in the engine bay

Howdja make the leads reach #1 and #3 ? I have just measured mine up to be longer than std EA82T as in 1075mm total length for #1 and 1215mm for #3 and they need straight terminals for the dizzy end. Working on eagleproducts to come up with a new listing based on my measures as current listing for 4WD Turbo Vortex is wrong for AWD 4WD Vorts or EA82TS (S is for spider)

the leads were on a multipoint EFI EA82 at the wreckers, all I did was take them of the motor and put them on mine.

Damn.. I never thought about the 22Bs engine as an EJ22T but I guess it's kinda the same :???: The EJ22T (2 off them) are the US market SOHC engines.. not the DOHC ones like the 22B has. I can sell the 22B engine to Tristan but I feel the price may be a little to high for him :)

I would think that the low compression in #1 & #3 would not be fixed with a set of leads... I feel only an EJ will fix this :p

must have taken a short cut and not followed the originals secure path? May be a good candidate to try a tin of Restore in the oil and see if it fixes up compression

Looking good Jules. The 14 fills the guards much better. How was the first day of taking the kids to school. Did people give you the look.

The AWD setup is the reverse of the EJ's - that's why the pinion shaft is not interchangeable between the two, the L AWD pinion shaft is longer than the EJs...

Jules, personally not a fan of the desert rats on a vortex, I don't know why, I'm struggling to work it out, but I think it could be due to their simple "agricultural" design/ruggedness on the "refined" vortex...

Cheers
