Haha Jonno I don't mind re-living it if it means Cam doesn't have to go through the same thing

Have a couple of ideas why it might have failed, told you one in that PM I sent. Can't be sure though because I didn't autopsy the engine, was just fed up with it by that point.
Before you start, buy about 3 boxes of glad snap lock bags, keep them and a sharpie handy. When you take any set of bolts out, gudgeon pins, springs etc put them in their own bag and label it exactly. Eg when you take #3 gudgeon pin out, put it in a bag labelled #3 pin. All of the flywheel to crankshaft bolts in one bag, labelled, all the lifters in seperate bags (#3 intake, #3 exhaust) etc etc
You will have a big pile of plastic by the end but it really helps when you come to put it back together. Increases your chances of not having any bolts left over at the end
