how are you going to fit the box in the MY tunnel? body lift for clearance? i seen on MV brat brumby forum that you wanted to stitch in the lib tunnel but i got confused as to which brumby you are building / talking about. Is there more updates on that forum?
Go straight to the top of the class !!

Niterida's 10 Step EJ into Brumby process ->

Step 1 - cut out damaged and slightly rusty floor :

Step 2 - cut out pesky narrow Brumby frame rails :

Step 3 - bolt EJ crossmember to Brumby frame rails :

Step 4 - weld Liberty LCA mounts to Brumby frame rails :

Step 5 - bolt EJ gearbox crossmember to Brumby frame rails :

Step 6 - modify Brumby frame rails to fit Liberty floor :

Step 7 - replace Brumby floor with Liberty floor :

Step 8 - place Brumby frame rails in new position :

Step 9 - stand back and admire handiwork :-D

Step 10 - realise you now have to pull it all apart to tweak it here and there, weld it in place and make lots of fiddly plates to be welded into all the gaps

2 out of 3 aint bad - except if you take 2 out of those 3 that only leaves me with one : Time

I don't really have the money and I certainly don't have the skill - there are a lot of f*ck ups already that I need to go back and fix :(

But thanks for the kind words.

Funny you should say that - I've been making templates of where I have cut and modified things so I can easily replicate it for the second one I am building. So yeah doing it on request is a possibility......

I've also got an even easier way of doing it - not sure if its registerable or not - but instead of using the Brumby chassis rails along the floor use the Liberty rails. Where they both come up and attache to the front chassis rails is almost identical. That would mean you don't have to weld any LCA mounts at all - would be a lot easier and a lot better but I think they might look at is a chassis change and place it in the Individually Constrcuted Vehicle class. Will find out when I do the next one.

Not really anything special - if it didn't work I would have burned a whole $200 - cos thats how much the Brumby and the Liberty bits owe me :-)

Big project on the go there but best way to tackle it. My son has an RX7 series 3 with a 13b rotor. Engine was built by Dyson Rotary on the coast. The HP these engines develop is unbelievable so good luck with the project and watching with interest.

Thanks - glad you like it.

Spent the last 3 days pulling it all apart, tweaking it, grinding a bit here, shaping a bit there, welding a f*ck up here AND there !!

All just to end up exactly where I was.

Except now it is ready to be welded in. Just gotta wait a few weeks for my friendly neighbourhood coded welder to have free time at the same time as me. It has to be done by a coded welder to pass rego - plus the floor pan is made of paper thin steel that I do not have the skills to weld properly :-(

I will be tacking it in place tomorrow though and then I can get to work on the strut towers, rewelding the radiator support panel to the newly moved frame rails etc etc.

Still a LONG way to go yet though....................................

Thanks Bennie

The concept is remarkably simple - made more so by Suabru using the same spacings on the engine crossmember mounting bolts.

I have another 2 Brumby shells sitting here ready to make one good one out of (one has a rusty body but good chassis rails - the other has damaged front chassis but excellent body). When I do it again it will be sooooo much easier because I willknow exactly where to cut and I have templates made of some of the harder bits
