Missing L Lift bits

G'day all, im in the (very slow haha) process of lifting my L (2" kit i got off a good mate), and ive got everything i need, bar the lifted brackets for the rear shocks and the steering extension.

Looking at pics of the brackets, it looks like it would be fairly simple to knock up a pair myself, anyone got any hints or tips for this?

With the steering extention, ive pulled the knuckle assembly out of a parts car that had power steering. the centre knuckle joint thingo (hopefully pictured if ive got it right ) is about 65mm. as my cars running non-power steering, does anyone know if thats gonna be just right/ too big?

Alex, I dunno about the swapping of the steering extension like that, but if you contact Jeff at crossbredperformance.com he should be able to supply you with a steering extension that'll do the job easy.

As for the rear spacers mine look like this (3 inch kit):

The steering extension bit only needs to be about 40mm longer (in a 2" lift) than what you currently have in the car. I would do like Bennie said and call Jeff for one or take your steering knuckle down to your local wreckers and see if anything from another model car fits. I use Liberty ones and have them extended but being a safety item, it needs to be done professionally.

what thinckness steel should i use for the brackets?
I have contacted jeff, unfortuneately he doesnt keep spare extensions... i guess ill just have to try what ive got and if it doesnt fit then try and find something else haha

Can Jeff make you up a steering extension and maybe a set of rear strut brackets too?

Otherwise, for the thickness I'm not sure what's been used on mine but it's pretty bloody solid! I'll check it out next time I'm in the shed
