From memory, most Outbacks were around $40,000 new, so to get one for between 8 and 10 grand, you'll be looking at around a 10 year old car. Most cars do an average of 20,000kms to 25,000kms per year, so most will have between 200,000kms and 250,000kms. If you find one with low kms and within your budget, you'll need to ask why is it so cheap.
You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.
