I have the O2 sensor in a MPFI L series y-pipe. I'll have to plug the hole but it'll save buying a new sensor.

well very itneresting.

page 18 of part 2 (has 162 pages) has the SCHEMATIC drawing of the sPFI system. The MAF has the 3 wires. one to the air control valve, one to the throttle sensor and the third to the ECU. is that how you read it guys? will have another look for some wires in the box. there were some there that didnt fit anywhere.

Looks like a Vac solenoid, with a bleed to air, to allow the Vac to release.
On- joins the two pipes.
Off- shuts one pipe and lets the other bleed to air through the "push button" or vent.
L serious, still.

Not a push button action is it Tony ? Just a cap to protect the air bleed off ? You can connect a fused power and earth supply up to it, suck and or blow with power on and off to see if it even works first, if it does, you get an idea of when it does work.
I forget whre they go, never registered what they control but notice the hard line ?

Some sort of control for the fuel charcoal cannister I faintly recall, so it bleeds off fumes to the ...rather, prevents charcoal cannister bleeding air off to th intake at idle.

Mark it for the BIN in your case, just don't toss it in case you o need it for something important - like your Brumby project - you are gonna have to get one to use that SC somewhere :D

yeh, my line of thinking is anti pollution stuff. I cant find the plug on the loom it matches to. Think its safe to put it aside.

Put it in a safe place "just in case" - but not one of those safe places where you never find it until you replace it... I've done that too many times

I have started a new thread on USMB about the pro's and con's of adding a supercharger to my EA81.

And one knowledgeable fellow posted these photographs of an EA81 with a Hitachi twin injector SPFI unit that resembles the Subaru unit.

I've asked him what model Nissan it comes off. Imagine a blow through supercharger using the second injector?

Very interesting. I recognise that anywhere - it's from a 1989 Nissan D21 pickup with a VG30i engine as I recall. With your blower this would be a sweet little setup :p

Seriously though I don't know this setup, I just read about it on your thread on the USMB. Might have to see if I can track one of these down to see what might be able to be done - but I wonder if we got these in Aust with this engine?

I was also going to add that the twin injector setup would need to run both injectors together - unless you messed around with one of the injectors to make it bigger with the other as the secondary one for when you're on boost. I say this as I spoke with a mate tonight about the MPFI system and he reckons they went with this as 4 injectors pulsing twice a cycle is easier to get a good idle from than if you have two bigger injectors in place of the four little ones - it will run fine but the idle is usually the issue apparently.

But a setup like this might be able to be tinkered with to fit your SPFI system and the secondary injector setup into - just have to get the injector size right!

Cheers

Well it just might give us a future option.

Seems on Nissan threads on forums the VG30i wasnt released in Oz. I've read where they suggest its an import but a common one for owners to seek out in the US.
