EJ22 into the early impreza

Post by guyph_01 » Tue Oct 08, 2013 8:38 pm

Hi guys,

I think it may have been covered but i can't find it after a quick search. Has anyone or do you guys know if its possible to put a ej22 from a Gen1 Lib into the early 'gc8' shape impreza, plug and play style? ej16 or ej18 or is the wiring different?

I have the feeling the ans is no but just wanted to be sure.
Thx

Short answer is no, it isn't plug and play.

You can fit it but it's like Dane said, it's not plug and play. You can have the wiring spliced in but that = $$$

You could put the EJ22 without all the manifold stuff and use all the EJ16/EJ18 stuff (just check the bolt hole line-up on the manifold first), then use a piggy back system to increase the injector pulse but again, this is more dollars.
You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.
