So I'm still problem solving my gc8 issues and have discovered my car is not quite obd2 and doesn't have the yellow diagnostic plug.
It has the obd2 plug but wired Ssm style?
So I want to make a Ssm cable to get real time diagnostics.
I have the correct isn cable
But I'm having problems wiring to the obd port, It won't recognise.
This is my obd port it only has pins 4/5 and 12/13/16 (16 being power)
Now assuming the below is correct
And this,
It should just be the send-receive-ground I need to hook up?
Anyone made one of these?
Ssm cable DIY?

As long as you have the pins wired the right way you should be able to connect to the ECU.
What drivers and scan software are you using?

Yeah i had the b10 tool for my ej'd L series that I regret selling
It's a ftdi cable (not a knock off from eBay) so a bit different the the serial cable one.
Using the driver from the ftdi website. I was hoping to get by with the vwrx software.

Or even the freessm software
