Engine cooling, or the lack of it.

Post by tobyduffill » Tue Jan 16, 2007 8:56 pm

I have a 86 model LEONE that is getting warm. It has just had a new thermostat and has had the radiator flushed with plenty of water flow. Still can not find the problem why it is running warm, 4mm from top of guage. No bubbles in the radiator. Is an automatic radiator larger than a manual or can a three or four core be built, any ideas welcome. Toby

Yeah definitely check water pump.
The car should run perfectly well on the standard single core radiator so best to find the root of the problem before getting a custom larger radiator.

agree with andrewt, the water pump is 20yr old and needs replacing.
