Digital Dash
Digital Dash
This is a good place for this thread.
What subaru's came with a digital dash?
How digital is it? Full (every instrument)? Half (some)?
Who has pics of some (Google is useless)?
Thanks.

how easy is is to stick one into an '86 dl wagon? anything like wires or connectors that i might be missing that would prevent me from shoving one in? if not, i'll have to go to the wreckers and see if they have one.

Vortex Digital Dash
I Had a 1985 Subaru Vortex 4WD Turbo back in NZ (my first of 4 in total), and it had ALL the jap specs, including the digital dash, but nothing like in the photos in this forum.
It was a full LCD dash, which even showed a picture of a car, which raised and lowered according to the height control of the car.
the layout was kinda like a car in the middle of a road (like in an arcade game), and the left of the "road" was the RPM, and the right side of the "road" was the Turbo boost.
It had the speedo in BIG numbers above, (even showed in reverse), and other displays were Fuel and temp (digital bar display), and outside temperature.
The odometer was still an analog insert right at the bottom.
Unfortunately, it was replaced with an analog dash after the alternator short circuited, shoving MAXIMUM CURRENT through the entire electrical system, and blew it up, along with all lights turned on at the time.
I do not have any pictures unfortunately, but would LOVE to get my hands on one for my '89 vortex here in aus.
