Moustache bar bending
Moustache bar bending
Who has bent moustache bars before?
I have two that both have a bit of a bend, is this normal?
Are they slightly offset from the factory?
Who has re-inforced theirs?
Its going to have to be way stronger than it is now when 6psi of boost hits it in a month or so..
Tim- is yours hanging in there?

Stinky, if you are looking down the length of one, is one bush housing set back from the other, ie offset? I don't think so...
They should be straight right?
they bend by hand in a vice, probably made of old milo tins!

I bent my first moustache bar within minutes of being on the road with my EJ20T.
I've reinforced it by getting two straight ones, lopping the bushes and the diff mounting bit off one and welding them together. I was going to reinforce one with flat bar, but it looked too ugly.
I haven't seemed to have bent it since then, although I've always been worried about it. I also found the rear CV's don't play ball when the bar is bent. My wagon's bar is bending up a bit every time I drive on the road with both axles in. I'll be welding some 6mm flat bar onto that when the time comes.

I don't know if you guys have seen this, or if it's very relevant, but this is a how-to on making a custom mustache bar.
