Camping trip at the end of year
I would prefer later in January or even Feb, hectic at work during the silly season and the Wonder Brumby is getting dissassembled and re-built in the next few weeks. If my blower brackets arrive, and the new dash, and the king springs etc etc I HATE FREIGHT.
Anyone know if LPG is available on the wild west coast?
maybe I will have to have a tray full of BBQ bottles (like jerrry cans)! 8O

So we are looking at the middle of Jan at the moment.
Howdy Fatz, hows the monster L going, did you know she used to be mine? I have her CD player still in the WB, her lower control arms and CV shafts as well. Aaahh the memories.

It arrived in Swansea with a cracked head, I scored her for $450, pulled the loom, sold it, pulled the EA82T out and have used the pistons and turbo on my jet boat motor, CD player, spotties and various bits went on to the Wonder Brumby.
Then the body all went to LegacyTT for a transplant onto his (now yours) Lseries weapon, which was particularly rusty I believe.
Small place Tassie.

Wagon Schmagon.
Put it in a Brumby!
Yeah it was a good score for everyone involved, I already had rear discs and so did Ian so I probably should have held onto them, but hey someone needed them.
Keep your eyes open for the parts cars gentlemen. They save a HEAP of cash when you realy need parts.
I can store a couple if need be.

Hrmm, what is the parts car gentleman? Never heard of it.
i thought about the brumby idea, but then i would have to buy another lift, and i really cbf doing that, who knows, i might when the time comes. Id prefer a wagon tho, nice and can make it to sleep in the back.
If there is a good lookin straight cheap brumby for sale, i might swing that way.
Wagons are usually cheaper anyway.
Cheers

was the sedan from hobart? one was advertised a quite a while ago with a cracked head, but i wasn't quick enough.
anyway the plan is to meander south from marrawah --> arther river --> couta rocks etc,
the last mapped road in land to get to corinna i can find is from temma
so we can turn here, or take our chances in finding a track inland futher south.
after corinna we can get back on the coast and do the granville to trail track, i wouldn't mind checking out the federation mine complex around lake cumberland (near trail)
if we could cross the little henty river, i doubt if we could cross the henty, so probably back into zeehan from trail and down strahan direction, we can get back onto the dunes just past the henty river and can travel all the way to strahan from here.
also, the darwin track just out of queenstown, is meant to be pretty tough 'real 4x4 country' it would be nice to have a look at the least, as its not to far out of the way.
all subject to alteration extension etc if there is anywhere else we can get stuck, muddy or break something we might go there as well...
as for gas im not to sure, got it in burnie and i assume that smithton, zeehan, strahan and queenstown would have it, possible marrawah, i will try and find out though.

G'day MY-STI,
No this was just on two years ago now, rolled into Swansea on its last drop of coolant, it was a good death. (to the 82t)
Its slugs live on in the H2aru.
I can't do 12 days guys, I will have to meet up en route somewhere with you guys. I can do 5-6 maximum.
Dead keen for the Trial Harbour onwards part if I had to pick, but dammit you will all be out of CVs by then.
Especially if Johnnie is there!!!

Hell yes I am going to try.
To do...
Strip front end,
install nolathane bushes
fit king springs
slot strut holes
Fit welded diff
Fit coilovers and shocks in rears
and a 4 wheel alignment.
Not enough time for..
Blower mounts and new dash (I will have to live with the rattles for one more trip).
I am going for it on Boxing day and will be ready when its ready.
I have that week off and the beautiful Chicky Babe is working and I will be west as soon as I can.
Perhaps we can set up a text network to let everyone know where you are and when.
Anyone else have a UHF???
Cheers all
Matt
