Rx Clutch Issues

Post by majordad » Wed Aug 01, 2007 9:17 pm

Having problems with the RX clutch. Have adjusted every which way and very difficult to engage any gear while stationary and bloody hard on the go. It is fitted with Direct Clutch service Double Diaphram job which has been brilliant given the torque it has taken. My theory is a bent release lever As it got progressivly worse over a reasonably short period of time ( few weeks of daily commuting) I am an old bugger so not into smokey rollbacks and I take things pretty easy until it gets a roll on. I am sure I saw someone talk this same problem a while back.
Any input would be appreciated and has anybody got a lever lying around.

Cheers Majordad

even if the release lever is bent and its cable clutch u shall still be able to adjust it enough to allow nice gear changes atleast for a couple of goes until it bends further lol

yer i think subarino had this problem with his gbox but he broke a few levers with the heavy duty clutch he is usin

but yer u should get enough adjustment on the lever for a few goes unless u have bent it too far already

Where r u located n is the lever the same as a MY one

Dont know if this is fixed yet, but I had exactly the same thing In the rally leone due to the heavy clutch installed. Turned out I had slowly over time bent/twisted the cam on the pedal so it no longer moved the cable rocker fully. Stick your head in the footwell and take a peek with the torch. I replaced the pedal with a new one and welded in a gusset so the cam was supported on both ends.
Take a look and you will know what I mean!
