With me driving it.

The van in nearly finished. Just welded on the turnbuckle for the brakes that broke last night. Fitted 2 new cable guides so the brake cables don't rub through my tyres.

Now, out to work on the car. Plugs, injectors, fuel filter, trailer light wiring. Then off to get some razors so I don't go away looking like Dave. :D

Hope you guys have a great trip - and welcome to the Territory (even though you will be many kms away from the Top End where I'm at.)

The drive where you're going is great - but look out for the 'roos and wondering stock (most properties don't have fences out west Qld and NT). Try not to drive from dusk to dawn !!!!

Enjoy.
Willie.

I got back yesterday morning after a 26 hours stint from kurumba to caboolture. I'd like to thank everyone that went and everyone that was already there. Especially stuart, mary-anne and jim for being such great hosts. I have never been so well fed. I had a really good time and I think I've got my 4 weeks holiday booked for the next 10 years. I'll leave the trip report for those that are still tripping.

I like driving, so no, I don't want to be a truckie. I used to like cars alot more than I do now, but being in the industry kinda put a dampner on that.

Best time of my life. Wollogorang is fantastic! I have been home for under 24 hours and I wish I was back there already.

A HUGE thanks to our hosts, Stuart, Mary-anne and Jim. Bush hospitality is alive and well with these people. We were put up in their now closed motel while we were there, we were fed until we couldn't eat any more, shown around the property by land and air and treated like family. Awesome. We learnt more about a cattle station and life in the bush more in the short time we were there than could be in a year at an agricultural college.

We managed to catch a few fish, stick a few critters with our bows and had the time of our lives while doing it. We were privileged to stay on the banks of one of the creeks in the bush which no other paying guest has ever been aloud to to do. Words can't do this place justice.

The country ranges from lush bushland to, sandy dunes to arid plains, to swamp land, to salt beds, to scrub so thick you can only get through it with a machete or Subaru with bullbar.

I will do up a decent trip run down on it today some time.

Pics. It is the only way to partly describe the fun we had. We have over 1000 photos from the trip.
