Well the engine and gearbox conversion has started. Hope to have it all completed in 3 weeks. It will be a slow process. Currently the engine is in position. Awaiting the tailshaft to be lengthened so I can position the gearbox at the correct height to clear in the tunnel.
Next will be too tackle the wiring, clutch and cable. Also will have to look at A/C.
Purchasing a coilover setup to convert the impreza struts and also L Series adjustable strut top to fit.
Alot to do so little time.

Mate, that engine looks like a neat fit! I can't wait to see the finished product. What're you doing with the interior, retro fitting the donor car's dash with a nicely finished interior?

Today the engine fired into life with some small dramas.
1. Engine doesn't run with 2 & 4 spark plug leads disconnected.
2. Hydraulic shop decided to completely blocked a power steer hose that they modded.

Still got to get the exhaust fixed and tidy up a few loose ends but otherwise happy with the outcome of the project. I am trying a set of the extractors off ebay to see what they are like.

Other areas that are going to be modded are coilovers for the front, shorter shocks for the rear, different dash setup and a rear spoiler. Need some fun dollars to complete these.

I have just completed the modds to the dash. I was sick of looking at the check engine light on all the time(vehicle speed sensor). Purchased a impreza instrument cluster from ebay and went ahead to incorporate it into the 6 gauge analoge cluster. First attempt was great but didin't like the white needle gauges that I got. Recently I purchased an jap import version with red needle to match the aftermarket oil pressure gauge. So here is the finished dash. No more check engine light now that the vehicle speed sensor is connected.
