What model is my Subaru??? HELP!!
Firstly just want to say hi. Found this forum through Google and hope to learn lots of handy tips about my Sooby. I guess a good start would be to find out what model it is. I have always been led to believe it is an L Series wagon, but I have recently found a site that says it's a MY. Can anyone help? Thanks. Sandi.

hehe...yer definitely need more info there.
I'm colour blind - I always thought my undies were red, but now somebody says they are green. Can somebody on here tell me what colour they are??

There is a link at the bottom of this (not sure if I allowed to post links yet so hope it works), the car in this picture is same as mine. Mine is a 83 model, has sportswagon sticker on back guards, not sure if someone just put that there or if it factory. 1800 4 spd duel range. Ummmm has nothing on compliance plate other than year, weight and chassis number. Hope this helps. Thanks. Sandi.

Soooo I went to the wreckers and got another carby since the Subaru dealer told me I would have to wait till October to get the part I need. Now the carby I got is different to the one I had?? It has auto choke, mine don't, and I havin trouble workin out where all the pipe thingys go. Sound like a typical woman yet??? hehe Oh by the way, it does look as good as the one in the pic!!!

Greetings and welcome.
The carb you've got would be from an L series, it will still fit and the autochoke is great once you get it setup properly.
I would recommend rebuilding the carb before you put it on though, if it has sat for any length of time it will probably leak like a seive.
Most of the extra pipes on the carb are for emissions control that was required for the L series, they can be blocked or redirected.
I had one of these on my 83 MY and it was great.
BTW: The subaru on that site is now a cube somewhere, it was last seen in a rusty, dismantled and hacked up state in my driveway.

Hi Jordan,
sorry bout the slow reply, haven't been on here since last week (busy trying to fix my broken cars/bikes/boat ARGHHHH!!). We ended up taking that valve thingy off the new carby and put it on the old. I wouldn't mind getting that EA82 carby rebuilt, auto choke could be handy since my old girl don't like mornings!! Sorry to hear the MY on that site is no longer, looked like a really nice little subbie and we all know they gettin harder to find! I want to lift mine, any suggestions?
Cheers!
