Gearbox swap - advice needed

Post by DeeJay » Wed Dec 12, 2007 12:55 pm

I need a new 5sp gearbox for my AWD '90 Liberty - EJ22E - what options are available? What later models that will fit? What about import low km's? Are there any pitfalls for new players? Cheers!

ok , what do you do with the car hwy driving >> stick with a aussi 3.9 > there getting old but $400..............................................................................................................................................................
a good up grade would be a 4.11 wrx gear box , change the rear diff ratio
Gear box $1300.00 rear diff ( vlsd ) & shafts $450.00

import boxes are ok , you can roll in on one side & check the oil via the oil drain plug

I have put a few 4.11 wrx gear boxes in awd & they go a treat
