Help me break into....
I've locked both sets of keys in my Forester. Anyone know how to get into a 2001 Forester?
If you know your VIN details you could ask your friendly Subaru dealer for another key...

Thanks fellas. Our local RACQ bloke's technical skills ran out at about the time XD Falcons were released.[small country town]. I'll call the Rockhampton office. Pretty sure we are Gold Members. I just didn't want to damage the paint or window tint. I can get into my L wagon in 3 seconds flat, thanks to an inept car thief who damaged the window rubber.

are the keys in the ignition / or easy to see?
If so you would be surprised how much the windows can flex from the body...use wooden door stops and a coat hanger.
Remember being glass, the windows themselves do not flex...not saying it is the most elegant solution, and is a real test of one's kahunas...as they will shatter is pushed too far
I used this method to retrieve the keys from the passenger seat of my in-laws 99 forester

Hmm.. RACQ bloke has been poking and prodding for over an hour now. He rang head office and was told they are "hard to get into."
DC Motors in Rocky cant cut or provide a key from the VIN number.
Can see both sets of keys on the driver's side floor.
The wooden wedge idea sounds like the best bet to me.Lucky the car is in
the shade in my carport.

If you can cut a key from a VIN it would be bloody easy to break into or steal cars, especially as the VIN is often displayed on the rego sticker or under the window. Can we nuke this thread now please? I don't want people trying to break into my Subies, at least not with info from our own forum!
