I was going to ask what all the green stuff was. Then decided it must just be grass wit the dust washed off. I think you should get out in that little paddock there and cut some hoops and put the dust back on the grass.

I'm almost certain I've seen the 4 piston calipers on rally cars running 15s.

Got one front Liberty hub stripped down and sitting on the modified lower wishbone. Seems to be maxing out the balljoint before the strut fully extends though. Be a real good way to break it if it hits full rebound in a hurry (like leaving the ground). Anyone else notice this?
How many Crossbred equipped cars are on the board? Come on, own up. I bet none of you have got them airborne?
In the standard MY location I still cant get any more than 8.5" of wheel travel from the liberty struts and hubs without more body lift which I'm trying to avoid. Just like with the MY struts, it's possible to get 16" of wheel travel from the Lib struts if you have enough lift or surgery or have small enough wheels.
Have to see what the wide track kit does for wheel travel. Then I can build the struts to suit.

I need to sit the hubs/bearing carriers out about 2" so I can use the complete Liberty shafts.

I don't know what the CAM ruling are like but you could go to modified L Series arms as they are about 2" Longer?

I've mocked up the lower arms now.
They ended up 65mm longer than std. MY so L series would be too short.

I decided to get a set of 16" rims afterall so now I can see which perform better. I've got some 7.00x16 Bridgestone rally tyres to put on them.

I've had a major re-think on the DIY modifications.
Moving the strut towers and fabricating the rear swing arms for the coilovers is too much for me so I'm going to bring the car back to Brissy and let the professionals do it.
I just couldn't bring myself to run a 4" cutting wheel into those beautiful, hand crafted, reinforced, fully tig seam welded strut towers.
Plus at the speeds and the terrain that I built this thing for I don't want it to break.

I'm widening the wheel track by 4".
I'm just not going to do it myself now.
I thought you knew.

Mushroom.

Is there going to be any tyre left INSIDE the guards ?

Getting pretty serious now. Does this mean the porsche cv's are going in too ?

Half the tyre will be sticking out.
This is only stage 3 (I'm skipping stage 2) which is WRX driveshafts on custom lower wishbones and longer travel Proflex front struts and full trailing arms with coilovers in the rear.

Stage 4 is a buggy style 5 link w/trailing arm rear end, midboard hubs and large 5 stud VW wheels but I cant really start that because I don't know what I'm going to do in the front yet. Some kind of upper and lower wishbone setup with coilovers and telescoping shafts to get enough travel.

I've finished the Crossbred 5 stud conversion so now I can drive it again. I've also extended the lower arms and am using the WRX legth front driveshafts. These are only a mock-up to locate the hub for the time being. The balljoint mount angle has been fixed and the hub is still inline with the gearbox output shaft.
Image

My new 16" rims turned up so I put them on complete with the 24" tyres that they came with. It'll stay like this untill I can get to a tyre shop to fit the 30" rally tyres. I've also got the twin spot calipers on that wouldn't fit under the 14"s.
Image

The strut towers obviously still need widening but the wheel track will stay the same at 1505mm. About 10mm wider than an Outback/Forester.
