About a week ago. My housemate left the house and my car was fine, he had to edge down one side of it and the doors were definitely closed. Twenty five minutes late I come out the front to see my back RH door wide open, the deviant had got into my tailgate, unlocked the rear RH door and then gone in through that and helped himself to the detector. It wasn't in plain sight though, it was sitting under a jumper in the passenger footwell.

The only thing that makes me feel good about it is that I still have the mounting bracket, still on the screen challenging him to come back and get it.

Then you'll just have to get a detector detector detector Dave.

Mine gave me the shits so about a year ago I threw the dam thing out the window of the car .
I did the same with my mobile phone , up north 3 years ago as the dam thing was ringing all the time ( ! ) > I had old slim on at the time and recall it well .It possably still there ringing . To date I have not replaced eather made a life change for me :) more the phone .

I recall my mate having his car stripped to find the detector in the dash , the car was returned with the dash it the back seat , he had to pay to have it refitted , some honda two door with R on it .

I wouldn't be so sure this law is going to go through... inside word is it wont be going through. Turns out the sole supplier of the main radar detector company in Australia is VERY good at fighting this law... and is extreamily confident they can fight it off once again.

I'm not too worried about this law if it comes or not. At the end of the day if you get pulled over by police, you do your darndest to stash a radar detector under your seat before they see it. Legal or not, if the average copper sees one he/she will do their darndest to find something to fine you for!
I'm actually looking forward to the stock disposal sales by all the car stereo places if the law does get passed, there should be some real bargains.

I doubt they will sell them any cheeper if it comes down to it. They still cost the company an awful lot. For anyone considering one i would look on E-bay... they are a bloody bargin on there and about half the price of our "buy" price.

I have never attempted to hide my radar detector from the police... im sure they don't think fondly of them but detecting police radar is not there only function. I have also never heard of anyone having issues with the police when having them.

I guess if u can afford the radar detector your car is in rather good condition. (unless you get one off E-bay... no offence Tim). Or you own a commodore... in which case the cops are hunting for u anyhows.
