05AUG08 4wd "Antics" around Benders... Dial up warning - 11 images initially

Hey all.

Here's what I got up to this arvo with my Rangie mate Benji - I took the camera this time, he had a cruiser friend with him.

The purpose of this outing was to test out his new BFG's. I'd say they went well and that I need a set, among other things...

The trippy thing about this trip was that we did it in reverse to how we usually do it, very strange!

Here's where we started: Water channel:

The mud hole, I usually steer clear of this as coming the usual way doesn't give much run off if you go in with speed. It was rather easy so I had a play after the "real 4wd's" had been through:

The Crusier's turn:

I went around this bit, there was no way a non lifted subi with roadies was going to make it up this section!

Another washout, full of rocks from other 4wd's that have previously been bogged in here so it was pretty easy for Ruby Scoo to move some water and not get stuck:

Hope you all enjoy having a look, I know we did and I can't wait for this saturday's 4wd'n with the other subi's a little further south from here.

looks good fun, maybe a set of mud & snow tyres on the 13'' rims would work a treat for the ruby scoo!!

Thanks bryan,

I priced them up and were outside my budget. At the moment I'm basically using the cheapest tyres I can get that will last the distance - mainly on the black top.

I'm hoping next year will see lift sorted along with the 4wd boots for Ruby Scoo, then I'll see what she's really made of. Can't wait!

Thanks Brenny, it was a good feeling to cruise through it, I seriously thought I'd bog down and not go anywhere. There was a good base under there thats for sure!

looks like a very fun arvo. is the tracks similar to the powerlines trek you did with us on the BBQ? some rocky sections and a bit of water too- looks like a challenge.
ps i reckon you'll be happy with just the advantages of some 14's and bigger rubber- with no lift.

Yeah, its a regular one of ours, 5 minutes from the "city" centre... Its the same one from this trip in october last year. This trip is in the southerly direction we usually take...

Hmm... In a way I guess it is the same, but a lot smaller and with only spread out sorta sections of juicy fun 4wdin' - still good to get out to considering how close it is to town. I used to get my "hits" from this area last year

Bigger wheels don't fit my budget just yet, I realise I winge on about it and really want a set along with some other choice bits, I don't mean to - I just can't wait to leave uni and get a full time job and pay cheque!
